Tips and Tricks

  • Buy the best quality paint and supplies you can afford
  • Use a primer that is tinted to a similar colour to your paint for a more vibrant finish
  • Where the job requires 2 to 3 tins of paint, mix all of the paint together before you start to produce a consistent colour
  • Take off switch covers before painting instead of taping or cutting in around them
  • Narrow your colour selection down to 2 or 3 colour using paint chips then using sample pots paint test patches on the required surface to test how they look at different times of the day, in different lighted areas
  • When ordering paint remember 4 litres is enough to paint 4 small bedroom walls twice
  • If you need a straight tape line to keep something clean from paint, apply tape and then wipe a very thin layer of no more gaps over the edge of the tape your painting to stop the paint bleeding under the tape
