Elastomeric coatings bridge cracking masonary
Cracking to external walls can look horrible, but it also stops the integrity of the water resistance to the exterior of your home.
Fine Hair line cracks appearing in your render that follow the outline of your blocks are usually caused by ground settling or slight movement over wet to dry periods causing the ground to move slightly.
Most paint systems are not built to bridge these cracks and are not flexible enough to remain intact over the coming movement periods.
Filling these gaps with a gap sealant before painting isn’t the suitable way of fixing this problem either as by the time the gaps is squeezed into the gap it is to thin to have any flexibility in it.
Gap filler needs to be a certain thickness before it can become flexible.
This is why we use an elastomeric membrane system.
